Some women are uncomfortable with their enlarged labia minora (inner lips), labia majora (outer lips), and/or clitoral hood, which can lead to self-consciousness and discomfort with wearing clothing, exercising, or having sex. The enlarged labia minora, labia majora, and/or clitoral hood can have a protuberant and abnormal appearance that can be bothersome and quite distressful.
Dr. Robert Rho has developed and refined a special reconstructive cosmetic surgical technique of labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction to reduce uneven, enlarged, or asymmetrical labia minora, labia majora, and/or clitoral hood to

Patients must have a pre-surgical consultation and thorough gynecological
examination prior to the surgery. Individual needs and expectations are
discussed at this time. Patients are individually counseled and educated on what
to expect, including possible risks, benefits, and options.
The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia (awake). Patients may
choose conscious sedation to help them feel more relaxed and comfortable.
General anesthesia is an option for some patients.
After the surgery, it is recommended to avoid sex, tampons, and douching for
six weeks.
Patients should return to the office six weeks after the
surgery for a follow-up exam. |
